What to do in Coron
Without a doubt, the best of the island of Coron is in its surroundings. Bathed by the tropical waters of the Sulu Sea, the island of Coron hides authentic underwater treasures and seabed full of life. The landscapes that form the environment, are also another of its great attractions. If you visit the island of Coron you should not miss doing activities like the following.
DIVING IN CORON
Undoubtedly one of the biggest attractions that offers the surroundings of Coron is the practice of diving. If you already have advanced diver qualification you can enjoy incredible dives in the many sunken ships that are in the area. During the Second World War, a naval battle between the Japanese forces and the American forces was fought around Coron, causing the collapse of 24 Japanese warships. This has made Coron considered one of the best places in the world for diving in sunken ships. Coron also offers many dives where you can enjoy the rich and varied marine life that is in its waters. In Coron Town you can find many diving centers (PADI and SSI) where you can hire your dives or diving courses (open water, advance or diving specialty in wrecks)
ISLAND HOPPING
Another attraction that Coron offers are the islands and beaches that are in its surroundings. The best way to enjoy these environments is by taking a snorkeling tour or Island Hopping. As happens in El Nido, all agencies offer the same tours.

MEET MAQUINIT HOT SPRING
Located 5 km from Coron Town, Maquinit Hot Spring is another of the natural treasures that we can find in Coron. Its thermal waters sprout at a temperature of 40 degrees Celsius. One of the greatest curiosities that the place has, is that Maquinit, is one of the few saltwater baths in the world. With 2 levels, its pools are very popular with tourists and local people. Maquinit Hot Spring opens every day from 6 am to 10 pm.
ENJOY THE VIEWS FROM EL MONTE TAPYAS
With its 210 meters above sea level, Mount Tapyas is the highest point on the island. After climbing its famous 720 steps, Mount Tapyas is the perfect place to enjoy the sunset at sunset.
Food in Coron
In the center of the town of Coron you can find many restaurant alternatives for all tastes and budgets. With the arrival of more and more tourists, new places offering local and international dishes have opened up. The people are very friendly and the service spectacular in most of them. We loved:
Trattoria Altrove: It has nothing local, but the pasta and carpacho are from another world.
Levine's Eatery: The food is quite normal, but it's on a rooftop with a view.
When you go out for the day in group tour the lunches are included. The crew can make grills on the boat or stop at some white sand beach and beautiful turquoise water. Local dishes are served, in general rice and fish.

Climate in Coron
In Coron, the wet season is overcast, the dry season is windy and partly cloudy, and it is hot and oppressive year round. Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from 77°F to 92°F and is rarely below 73°F or above 96°F.
The best time of year to visit Coron for hot-weather activities is from mid December to late March.
