Located north of the island of Pinay (Aklan), in the region of the Western Visayas, the island of Boracay is one of the main tourist destinations throughout the Philippines. Due to that fame, Boracay suffered the impact of uncontrolled mass tourism to the maximum extent. The impact was so serious that the government with the idea of recovering the environment and laying the foundations for a new tourist development in the area, closed the island to tourism during the last semester of the year 2018. Thanks to this closure and the new plans of tourist development, Boracay is going back to that state of conservation that made it be considered for years as one of the most beautiful islands in the world.

What to do in Boracay
ENJOY THE BEST BEACHES IN THE ISLANDS
All these regulations commented have caused the beaches of Boracay to be again amazing and beautiful. Of these beaches the most famous is known as White Beach. With its 4 km of white sand, White Beach is ideal for a day of relaxation and sun. Other beaches that you should not miss are Bulabog and Puka Beach.
ISLAND HOPPING AROUND THE ISLAND
Like all the island of the Philippines, in Boracay it is also possible to do Island Hopping or Boat Tours to know the surroundings of the island. In this Island Hopping you will visit places like Crystal Cove, Crocodile Island. Magic Island, Puka Beach and Ilig -Iligan Beach. The prices of the Island Hopping vary according to the agency where the contracts and the type of boat, varying the prices between 2,000 pesos to 3,000 pesos.
DIVING IN BORACAY
Although it is not the best diving area in the Philippines, Boracay offers interesting diving spots. With an apt diving at any level, Boracay is an ideal destination to try for the first time as is the world of diving or to gain more experience. On the island, you can find diving centers where you can book your dives and hire your christening or diving course. The best dive sites are Virgin Drop, Coral Garden and the Camia II price.
PRACTICE KITESURFING
Boracay is one of the best places in the world for Kitesurfing. In Bulabog you can find schools where you can take introductory classes or rent your equipment.
PRACTICE SNORKELING
If your idea is not to practice scuba diving but you like snorkeling, the best place on the island to enjoy marine life is Tambisaan beach.
VISIT BAT CAVE
Known as the Cave of the Bats, Bat Cave is home to a colony of Fox Bats. These bats are characterized by their large size and by feeding fruits. Bar Cave is located in the northeast of the island, in the vicinity of Ilig Iligan Beach.
ENJOY THE BEST SUNSETS
If you are what you like to enjoy the moment of sunset, the best place on the island where you can watch the sunset is the small beach of Diniwid. Another way to enjoy the sunset is only with a small traditional boat ride or Bangka. From the White Beach area you can take one of these boats.
ENJOY THE VIEWS FROM EL MONTE LUHO
Luho Mt. with its 110 meters of altitude is the highest point of the island. From the top you can enjoy incredible visits to the island from its 2 viewpoints or viewpoints. Mt Luho Viewpoint is located in the vicinity of Bulabog Beach.
VISIT WILLY'S ROCK
Located in the area of White Beach Station 1, Willy's Rock is a small island famous for having an image of the Virgin Mary. Over the years, it has become one of the island's photographic icons.

Accommodation in Boracay
Due to the temporary closure of the island and that attempt to seek a higher quality tourism accommodation in Boracay are somewhat more expensive than elsewhere in the Philippines. Part of this new tourism development of Boracay has been based on a control of the hotels and their quality. Currently there are only 305 hotels authorized to receive customers. These accommodations are concentrated throughout White Beach, in the so-called Station 1, Station 2 and Station 3. You can also find accommodation on Bulabog Beach or on Diniwid Beach (Yapak).
If your idea is to stay in the same White Beach, the areas considered the quietest are stations 1 and 3. If you are looking for cheap accommodation, the most economic area would be Bulabog beach, while the Diniwid area is very quiet but the accommodation is something more expensive.
Climate in Boracay
The climate in Boracay is hot, oppressive, windy, and overcast. Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from 75°F to 91°F and is rarely below 73°F or above 94°F.
The best time of year to visit Boracay for hot-weather activities is from mid January to mid April.
